Principals Pen Happy Fall to All! I am ready
for cooler temperatures, colorful leaves,
pumpkins, apple dumplings. A few of my
favorite reminders of the Fall season. My wife,
daughters, I are heading out to the hiking
trails at our local parks for the Summit County
Fall Hiking Spree. We started this tradition 5
years ago continue to add the badges to our
hiking stick every year. Though sometimes I go
grudgingly thinking of everything I have to get
done, I am never disappointed once I get there,
enjoying the beauty of the trail the times we
spent together. We hope as our children grow
they choose the right trail for their lives. We
leave them trail markers that point them in the
right direction so that they dont get lost or
end up on the wrong path. As parents teachers,
we hope they read the signs follow the trail,
but nothing replaces walking with our kids
holding their hand, talking with them and
teaching how to read the signs of life, so that
some day they are able to navigate the trails of
life on their own. My challenge is to know all
of your children personally. It a daunting task
with 668 students, however, I try to guide the
students to make good decisions to know that
they cant change the past but the can certainly
change the view as they look ahead. I guess its
like being a tour guide or park ranger!
