Display and Sound Adjustments

• Backlight on/off (press display button)
• Adjust screen contrast (hold down display button)

Calibrate touch screen (press display power
buttons) Adjust speaker volume (F3 touch button)

GeoXT Memory

• Main memory (similar to RAM)
• Used mainly for running programs
• Also stores essential files for Windows CE
  operating system
• Volatile memory store (cleared on power loss or
  reset, then restored automatically from last
  backup)
• Can be backed up at any time
• Disk (similar to a hard disk)
• Used for storing programs and data
• Non-volatile flash memory (not affected by power
  loss or resetting)

Resetting

• Screen unresponsive (not blank)
• Hold down power button for 5 seconds (until
  screen goes blank)
• Screen is blank
• Hold down power button for 15 seconds
• Clear main memory (factory defaults)

GPS Settings

• Drag slider bar left to decrease GPS precision
• Drag right to increase GPS precision
• Recommended settings
• Max PDOP 6
• Min SNR 6
• Min Elevation 15o
• Velocity Filter Off

Logging Settings

• Log velocity data in areas with high multipath
• Enter accurate antenna height
• Specify whether or not positional data can be
  updated or replaced
• Specify whether to display a confirmation message
  when you close an updated feature
• Dont change the filename prefix
• Style, Interval and Accuracy fields for each
  feature in current data dictionary

Real-time Settings

• TerraSync software uses highest priority
  real-time source available

Coordinate System Settings

• Coordinate system for display of foreground and
  background files
• Display setting only, does not convert the
  coordinates
• All GPS data are collected in Lat/Lon, WGS84, HAE
• Critical setting when navigating

• Display setting only, does not convert the data
• Critical setting when specifying an accurate
  antenna height
