DAILY INSPECTION
Purpose Ensure that no defect has occurred which
might render the aircraft unsafe

• Defects can occur due to
• normal wear and tear
• maladjustments
• careless handling
• severe flight or landing loads

• Daily inspection components
• Wings
• visual inspection
• aileron hinges. Control horns and mass balance
  weights
• aileron cable tension
• airbrakes and their mechanism
• wing ? fuselage attachments
• aileron and airbrake attachments to fuselage
• wing root fairing strip

• Tail
• visual inspection
• elevator, rudder and trim tab hinges and control
  horns
• attachment of tail plane ( removable in all
  gliders)
• connection of elevator and trimmer
• attachment of fairing

• Fuselage
• visual inspection
• condition of skid/wheel and tailskid
• elevator cable tension
• rudder pedal / rudder cable tension
• no loose objects
• condition of interior of the cockpit and safety
  belts
• clear canopy with serviceable attachments
• instruments in working condition
• batteries secure
• check the LS-1 validity
• Cable release hook and release mechanism

• full and free movement
• ailerons
• rudder
• trim tab
• airbrakes
• Wheel brake

• Equipment
• serviceable parachute
• cushion
• ballast weight
• DI logbook
