14EUPECO
- The project aimed to design a European
educational system for the adults, be able to
deliver a diploma in the field of Adult
Education Pedagogy, and develop a study
programme integrated in this system. - This was to be a semi-independent educational
structure able to assure a proper high-level
qualification in Adult Pedagogy for those who are
already working in the field of Adult Education,
but without having the appropriate skills and
knowledge. - It is the case for the employees of the adult
education providers (adult education agencies,
folk schools, popular universities, etc).
15TEACh
- The partners from Cyprus, Denmark, Finland,
France, Hungary, Italy and the United Kingdom)
develop a Grundtvig 3 Course aimed at improving
the training of persons involved in formal and
non-formal adult education in the area of
teaching active citizenship. - The project set up a team of tutors who pool
together expertise and devise the content, the
teaching approach and the evaluation/certification
methodology to be used within the course. - The package thus created will be included in the
Comenius/Grundtvig Catalogue and offered to a
wide European audience.
16ALPINE
- 35 partners from 20 countries
- To examine existing provision for adults in
European Universities identifying barriers to
learning examples of good practice - To find ways of improving and developing existing
practices - To strengthen learning opportunities for adult
learners by increasing widening access
17ALPINE
- KEY ISSUES
- Situational- e.g. lack of money/ time
- Institutional- e.g. programmes not adapted to
adults needs - Attitudinal- e.g. negative attitudes to adult
students
18ALPINE
- Adult teaching and learning methods must replace
those used with younger adults - Programmes must be flexible and respond to the
demands of the market - Course should provide new knowledge and skills
- Assessment should help identify progress and
areas of weakness - The direct experience of the learner should be
recognized
19 EQUIPE
- The overall purpose of this project network is to
enhance the quality of the individualised
learning pathways for adults into and through
higher education. - As universities become lifelong learning
institutions, arrangements for quality assurance
and enhancement need to take account of a much
more diverse range of learners' needs and of new
practices. - Together the 32 partners develop a web-based
toolkit to support quality projects in university
adult learning particularly focussing on new
forms of practice.
20 TheNUCE / EULLearN
- Between 1996 and 2003 a large Thematic Network,
TheNUCE (Thematic Network in University
Continuing Education) mobilised experts from some
140 universities in 30 European Countries to
identify several important transitions which are
required for current university Lifelong Learning
management. - Since 2003 this TheNUCE activity has been
continued and developed by EULLearN (European
University Lifelong Learning Network), active in
31 countries with 101 Higher Educational and
Social/Economic partners
21 TheNUCE / EULLearN
- The objectives are to enhance the quality of
University Lifelong Learning (LLL) and to promote
European-wide actions that would develop LLL in
the society. - The target groups are the managers/providers of
LLL. - The expected added value is the positioning of
LLL in Europe as a normal activity of higher
education institutions, recognised as such at
both internal and external level. - THENUCE / EULLearN aims to give a new wider
European dimension and target to the network
activities by developing Europe-wide actions and
means of identifying and disseminating good
practice.
