Historical Perspective

• Eric Werner Early Christians rejected
  instrumental music on the basis that it was
  strongly connected with the sacrifices in the
  temple
• Talmud Animal sacrifices could not be made in
  the absence of instrumental music

• The practice of instrumental music in the worship
  is brought over from the Old Covenant. It is not
  found in the New Testament church.
• To force instrumental music in our worship is to
  force the Old Law of Moses Galatians 214

  harps and psalteries for praising God that she
  may not seem to Judaize
