  • THE PTA VISION
  • To create a better everyday School
  • experience for the students at ISH

  • The PTA is elected from those who volunteer to
    help every year and operates for a calendar year.
  • Class representatives are selected at the
    beginning of each school year.
  • The PTA board meets approximately every 6 weeks
    and a full meeting with all class representatives
    is held 2 or 3 times a year.
  • A voluntary donation of 300 SEK per family is
    requested at the beginning of each school year to
    help subsidise activities within the school
    provide funding towards class trips organise
    social events for parents, students and teachers
    support special needs within the school.

Parents and teachers together play an active and
important role to meet the goals of PYP, MYP and
Diploma programs at the International School

The PTA is the platform that helps with simple
efficient support in all practical school issues
using cooperation between the school and the
parents
Raise money through do- nations
and membership fees
Provide links to external expertise when not
available within ISH
Organise practical help for all kinds of school
events and activities
Actively help promote develop the school

  • Minutes from meetings
  • Minutes from board meetings are published on the
    main school website
  • Issues to be brought up at the next meeting can
    be taken up directly with a board member or via
    the class representatives
  • The Accord
  • Since February 2007 a newsletter called The
    Accord has been published.
  • Opportunities for parents to share information,
    ideas, advertise articles for sale, as well as
    general PTA information is published
  • New Parent Welcome Book
  • For all new parents and teachers to the school a
    44 page handbook has been published with
    information about Helsingborg, helpful
    information about Sweden and general useful
    information to help settle into life in Sweden
  • Discussion with local companies
  • In an effort to help promote the school to the
    local company, representatives of the PTA are
    present at meetings to help provide information
    and promote the school.

  • Current Projects
  • Since January 2007 a large project has been
    initiated in cooperation with the school to raise
    money to replace the current football pitch with
    an all-weather surface.
  • The new surface would more provide many
    activities both for Sports in PE as well as in
    Fritids and general play at school.

  • Over the recent years the money raised by the PTA
    has helped the school in numerous ways. This
    includes, but not limited to
  • 100s of new books for the school library
  • Common room areas for the MYP and Diploma
    programs
  • Playground equipment
  • IT equipment

Class Representatives
Class Representatives help to stimulate and
support the active contribution of parents to the
school community. They are the eyes and ears of
PTA from the parents perspective.
