The Pantheon was a temple dedicated to all the
gods.
It was built by the emperor Hadrian, a successor
to Trajan.

The Pantheon is 142 ft. high and 140 ft. across.
It is a simple but massive form
a cylinder,
topped by a hemispherical dome,
fronted by a columned rectangular porch.

recessed squares called coffers which lightens
the dome visually and structurally.

very top of the dome.
