Mobile District's military boundaries cover over
252,200 square miles. Stretching 3,800 miles
north to south, the District supports the Army,
Air Force, NASA and other Federal Agencies in
Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and
Central and South America
Florida Mission
In Florida, Mobile District provides a full
spectrum of Engineering support services to
Department of Defense Facilities, State
Department Facilities and NASA Facilities. Some
typical services include Project Management,
Engineering, Construction Management, Contracting
and Real Estate Services just to name a few.

TYPICAL PROJECTS
MacDill Security Forces Building Description
Construction of a 31,000 sf operations facility
for the 6th Security Forces Squadron. Work
includes concrete foundations and floor slabs,
masonry walls, stucco exteriors, metal roof
systems, fire detection and suppression, HVAC,
elevator, emergency power, utilities, parking,
site improvements, OM manuals, and other
required support. Work also includes
anti-terrorism/force protection physical security
in compliance with minimum DOD construction
standards.
MacDill Dormitory Description Construction of a
new three-story dormitory facility comprising of
approximately 32,000 SF. Facility includes
reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor
slabs, concrete frame, insulated stucco covered
concrete masonry unit exterior walls, and a
standing seam metal roofing system. The facility
shall include dorm rooms, kitchens, laundries,
storage, a lounge area, communications and other
required support . Demolition of existing
Building 251 is also included.

TYPICAL PROJECT
U.S. CENTCOM JICCENT HQ Description This
project is the construction of a 4-story, 260,000
square foot Sensitive Compartmentalized
Information Facility (SCIF) with auditorium,
central utility plant with shredder room and a
large base wide water storage tank. This
facility will utilize pile and reinforced
concrete foundations, metal frame with precast
concrete exterior finish, metal decking, standing
seam metal roof, raised computer flooring
throughout, laminated force protection glass,
elevators, backup generator power,
uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system,
communications wiring, and audiovisual
infrastructure.

TYPICAL PROJECT
U.S. SOCOM 501-D Description Construct a multi
story facility with pre-cast concrete exterior
wall panels to match existing Bldg 501/501A.
Project includes loading dock and receiving area,
landscaping, site improvements, vehicle parking
and underground communications infrastructure.

TYPICAL PROJECTS
MacDill Pharma-Care Description Two satellite
pharmacies will be consolidated with an
addition/alteration to the existing Pharma-care
Building. The project will include supply
storage, offices, counseling rooms and new
robotic dispensing equipment. The Addition will
come first and then the existing building will be
completed.
MacDill Tri-Services Clinic Description
Construction of 231,154 SF multi-story
Replacement Clinic and 7,689 SF Central Energy
Plant to support delivery of ambulatory health
care services. Supporting facilities include site
work, utilities, parking and access road. The new
Clinic will relocate the facility to the main
base core area, near most community activities.
Existing hospital will be demolished after the
completion of new Clinic.

TYPICAL PROJECTS
Patrick AFB Child Development Center Description
The work consists of a single story 31,055 SF
facility to replace the existing Child
Development Center at Patrick AFB. Construction
includes CMU walls, light-gage steel trusses, an
exterior stucco and split face CMU finish, sloped
shingle roof, site work and utilities.
Cape Canaveral Satellite Alert
Facility Description The work consists of a
3,726 SF facility designed to store up to three
satellites and withstand Category V hurricanes,
located at Cape Canaveral AFS. Construction
includes concrete piles, structural fill,
concrete walls, ceiling, and retaining walls,
emergency generator and fuel storage, site work
and utilities.

TYPICAL PROJECT
SOUTHCOM Description The Design-Build project
consists of new MILCON funded facilities to house
HQ USSOUTHCOM in Miami, replacing the existing
leased space. The facilities will house up to
2,883 personnel, and will include a net 684,150
SF.

TYPICAL PROJECTS
Homestead ARB Visitors Quarter Phase
1 Description The work consists of a new three
story, 27 room VQ located at Homestead ARB, with
options up to 57 rooms. Construction includes
split face structural CMU walls, steel joists,
SSMR, site work and utilities.
Homestead ARB JTF Warehouse Description The
work consists of a new 2,000 SF facility to
support the Deployable Joint Command and Control
(DJC2) program at Homestead ARB. Construction
includes new CMU walls, stucco/split face block
exterior, SSMR, site work and utilities.

TYPICAL PROJECTS
Construction Support to Area VA
Facilities Description The Department of
Veterans Affairs has asked the Mobile District to
be their construction agent for several small
renovation and repair projects as well as the
construction of a few clinics. The MEDCOM
Resident Office has relevant experience and will
manage those projects that are located within
their vicinity.
