Analysis of results
From the measurements a change in cut-off
wavelength of 0.2nm corresponds to a ?nC 0.003.
Assuming a refractive index of the proteins of
1.47 this corresponds to a protein concentration
of 20mg/ml. However, the change in cutoff
wavelength of 0.2nm in the measurements is seen
for a concentration of only 10µg/ml. Thus, the
sensor shows a 2000 times higher sensitivity than
this simple estimate of the sensor
performance! A protein mono-layer deposited on
the surface combined with a localized evanescent
field gives high sensitivity and selectivity.

Plans for specific cooperation with the partners
  • Collaboration with DTU and IMEC well established.
  • From the other partners we hope to get a few
samples and perhaps packaging of a sensor.
  • We can offer design and characterization
immediately, and soon also immobilization of
    selective proteins.
