2Frontal lobe
- This is a picture of the frontal lobe colored in
light blue. The frontal lobe is the lobe that all
mammals have. The frontal lobe function is that
it tells your body if you do this there are these
future problems/consequences.

3The occipital lobe
http//www.cycrout.com/jillianpwinslow/brain.jpg
- The occipital lobe is what helps your sight and
processes all the colors you see and the things
you see. The Visual vortex is part of this lobe.
This lobe is part of the visual cortex which
helps with the sight. - All mammals have this lobe yet most are
colorblind so they cannot process colors with
their lobe so everything is black and white to
them.
4Parietal lobe
- The parietal lobe is used frequently by all
mammals because mammals are constantly moving so
they use this lobe to move. The motor cortex is
part of this lobe and helps move our body parts
and specific muscles such as the hands use more
space on the lobe than the legs or arms.

5Temporal lobe
- Temporal lobe is the lobe on the sides that
controls our speech hearing ,and memory.

6Brain Stem
- The brain stem is the stalk of the brain below
the cerebrum that connects to the spinal cord to
the brain. This part of the brain controls heart
rate, breathing, digestion, and sleep

7Medulla and cerebrum

y/fullsize/19236.jpg
- The medulla is what controls the breathing of
your lungs and the beating of your heart - The cerebrum is in mammals only and is the newest
and largest part of the brain as a whole. It is
here that things like perception, imagination,
thought, judgment, and decision occur

8Cerebellum
- The cerebellum is the second largest part of the
brain. It controls posture and balance, your next
movement and the time of that next moment.

10Axon
- The axon, a long extension of a nerve cell, takes
information away from the cell body. Bundles of
axons are known as nerves or, within the central
nervous system, as nerve tracts or pathways.

11Dendrite
- The dendrite is an extension to a neuron that
sends and receives messages from other neurons

12Cell Body
- The cell body (soma) contains the neuron's
nucleus (with DNA) Dendrites branch from the cell
body.

13Synapse
- A synapse is the space between the dendrite and
another dendrite which sends electrical current
to give the other cell the message.

14Limbic system
- Controls Emotions, Emotional Responses, Hormonal
Secretions, Mood, Motivation, Pain, and Pleasure
Sensations. Has the parts pituitary gland,
thalamus hypothalamus and the Amydala

15Amygdala
- The amygdala controls
- Arousal
- Controls Autonomic Responses Associated with
Fear - Emotional Response
- Hormonal Secretions

16Thalamus
- A large mass of gray matter deeply situated in
the forebrain. There is one on either side of the
brain. Receives Auditory and Visual Sensory
Signals.

17Hypothalamus
- It supplies input to areas in the medulla and
spinal cord that control activities such as heart
rate, respiration, and fat metabolism. In
reptiles, birds, and mammals, the hypothalamus
regulates body temperature of the animal

18Pituitary Gland
- The pea-sized pituitary gland is one of the key
structures in the endocrine system. It releases
the hormones that regulate growth and the
activity of other endocrine organs in the body
