Early Years

• He was came from a solid peasant stock
• Born in the small Siberian town of Prokovskoe on
  January 10, 1869

• Rasputin as a young lad shocked the village by
• skipping school
• stealing
• Womanizing
• drunkenness

Boy turning into Monk

• Rasputin underwent a religious transformation
  around the age of 18.
• He was fascinated by a renegade sector within the
  orthodox faith, the skopsty.
• Skopsty followers believe that the only way to
  reach God was through sinful actions.

Marrying Monk

• Rasputin spent 3 months in the Verkhoturye
  monastery.
• Rasputin married Proskovia Fyodorovne and had 3
  children (two girls and a boy).

• In 1903 Rasputin was proclaiming himself as a
  starets, a holy man.
• As a starets he claimed to posses healing powers
  and could predicts the future.

• 1908, Rasputin was summon to royal palace to cure
  Alexei.
• Alexei, the some of the Tsar and the Tsarina,
  suffered from Hemophilia.

  and personal advisor to Tsarina, Alexandra.

• Most Aristocrats believed having a sexual
  alcoholic peasant monk as an advisor to the
  Tsarina was unacceptable.
• Gossip claimed that Rasputin seduced the Empress,
  her 4 daughters and with a woman in high society
  in exchange for granting political favors.

War World I

• War World begin in 1914.
• 1915 Tsar Nicholas II assumed command of the
  Russian armies.
• Nicolas left St. Petersburg, the capital in 1915.
• Alexandra promoted Rasputin as the chief counsel.

• As chief counsel, Rasputin, fired Russian
  imperial government members and replaced the
  positions by many Rasputins supports.

Prince Felix Yussupov

• Since the Tsarina had become depended on
  Rasputin, Prince Felix Yussupov and other members
  of the family decided to kill the evil monk.

Death for Rasputin

• December 1916, Rasputin was poisoned, stabbed,
  shot thrice in the chest, then finally died when
  the Prince throw his body in the river.

Eerie Prediction

• Rasputin had made an eerie prediction before he
  died.
• If I am killed by common assassins and
  especially by my brothers the Russian peasants,
  you Tsar of Russia, have nothing to fear for your
  children, they will reign for hundreds of years
  in Russia.
• if it was your relations who have wrought my
  death, then no one in your family , that is to
  say, none of your children or relations will
  remain alive for two years. They will be killed
  by the Russian people
• I shall be killed. I am no longer among the
  living. Pray, pray, be strong, think of your
  blessed family.

Prediction Came True

• July 17, 1918, in the town of Ekaterinburg,
  Nicholas, Alexandra, and their five children were
  brutally murdered by the new Bolshevik rulers.
