Begin the Pipeline Project
  • Focus on the need
  • Decide on an application (ours is biotech)
  • Envision the plan implemented, work backward from
    there
  • Look for an appropriate grant

    application
  • Obtain appropriate approvals
  • Read the RFA/RFP
  • Then read it again, and again
  • Break out the components of the application (i.e.
    narration, budget etc.)

  • Decide who does what
  • Integrated curriculum who, when, how, where
  • Establish timelines
  • Begin collecting signatures, resumes, etc.

Lessons Learned
  • As soon as the RFA is released start working, big
    vision should already exist
  • Invite organized people, who are good at working
    to timelines, to help you
  • Be sure your action plan is do-able

    out the grant, be very specific in your needs
  • When questions arrive get clarification
  • Establish invoicing procedure before submittal
  • Once you have gotten the grant
