Title: aX Profibus Master Parameterization
1aX Profibus Master Parameterization
Use aX Profibus Master classes in
automationX. Use and configure aX Profibus
Master. Set the parameters for aX Profibus
Master.
- Training aX Project Engineering
2aX- Profibus Classes Overview
- Status of aX Profibus Master
- Display aX Profibus Parameters
- aX Profibus Parameter Description
- Load and Save aX Profibus Master Parameters
- Reset the aX Profibus Master
- Redundancy Channel
3Status of aX Profibus Master
Before aX Profibus Master configuration is
possible, the aX Profibus channel must be active
(green in the aX Server window).
- The aX Profibus status popup displays
- the protocol name of your aX Profibus connection
- the status string (e.g. In Ring)
- the running counter of your aX Profibus
connection - the number of active devices
- the sum of input data
- the sum of output data

4Display aX Profibus Parameters
For a detailed description of the aX Profibus
parameters refer to the docu-mentation of your
MIO_card.
- Right mouse click the Parameter button in the aX
Profibus status popup to get the popup with the
aX Profibus settings.
Click with the right mouse button
5aX Profibus Parameter Description
- Address
- the master address in automationX can be 1 or 2.
- Default value 1
- Slot Time
- the maximum time a master station on this
Profibus must wait for a transaction response.
The Slot time is the maximum time the initiator
waits for the complete receipt of the first frame
character of the immediate acknowledgment or
response, after transmitting the last bit of an
action frame. - Default value 200 Tbit
- tsdr_min the minimum time a slave must wait
before it may respond. - Default value 60 TBit (in case of the
microprocessor 8051 --gt normal
value 11 TBit )
6aX Profibus Parameter Description
- tsdr_maxthe maximum time after which a slave
must respond. If you use the automationX Profibus
PCI or ISA card you can use up to 32 Profibus
Slaves. The problem is, if you use more than 32
Profibus Slaves the Profibus needs an tsdr_max
lower than 500 TBit, but you need the more than
350 TBit for the Master Master communication.
For more than 32 Profibus Slaves you can set your
tsdr_max in the range from 350 Tbit to 500 TBit. - Default value 500 TBit (in case of the
microprocessor 8051 --gt normal value 100 TBit
) - Ttr Target Rotation Timethe anticipated time
for one token round on this Profibus, including
allowances for high and low priority
transactions, errors and GAP maintenance. - Default value 60000 TBit
- Tset setup time
- the time between an event and the necessary
reaction. - Default value 1
7aX Profibus Parameter Description
- Baud Rate the available baud rates of the MIO
PCI Profibus card are 1500 kBit/sec, 500
kBit/sec, 187,5 kBit/sec, - 93.75 kBit/sec, 19.2 kBit/sec and 9.6 kBit/sec.
- gap range of station addresses from this
station to its successor in the local token ring,
excluding stations above hsa???. - Default value 1
- has highest station address of masters in bus
system - Default value 2
- Max value 127
- Min value 1
8Load and Save aX Profibus Master Parameters
When using long wires or a connection to another
aX Profibus Master, change the parameter settings.
- Load or save your aX Profibus settings using the
buttons - Load Prm and Save Prm.
- Choose the path and the file name of this file
from the file selection box evoked by a mouse
click on the field filename.
Click with the right mouse button

9Reset the aX Profibus Master
After pressing the Reset button, the data
transfer to the devices is stopped.
- After changing one of the aX Profibus parameters,
the button Reset --gt Set new PB Parameter will
start to flash red. - Press this button to reset your aX Profibus
communication and to activate the new parameters.
Click with the right mouse button
10Redundancy Channel
You need the redun-dancy channel to establish a
redundant automationX system.
- The status popup of the Redundancy card is
similar to the popup of a aX Profibus channel. - The aX Profibus settings of the redundancy are
hard coded and cannot be changed. - To reset the redundancy channel, use the Reset
card button
