My brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus may his

The purpose of this program and other programs in
this catechetical series is to give honor and
glory to God, our Father and to obey Jesus
command to spread the Good News to all the
nations
Let us pray Father we thank you for the gift of
life you have given us. We thank you for most
beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, whom You sent
to teach us to know, love and serve you, and who
suffered and died for our redemption. We thank
you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and pray
that the Holy Spirit will open our minds and
hearts as we strive through our studies to know,
love and serve you better. We offer this
thanksgiving and petition in Jesus name. Amen

identify the vessels used for the Liturgy of the
Eucharist. You will learn what each item is,
and how it is to use in setting up for Mass.

CORPORAL
Is a small cloth, it has a red cross in the
middle. It is folded when open it is
approximately a 20 inches square, upon which the
Body and Blood of Jesus rest upon. It is placed
in the center of the altar.

CHALICE
Contains the wine that will become the Blood of
Jesus

The chalice is placed in the middle of the
corporal

PURIFICATOR
The purificator is a small linen cloth used
during Mass to dry and clean the chalice. It is
place on top of the chalice.

PATEN
Paten is circular dish either gold or silver. It
is used in the Mass to hold the host and to
gather up particles of the broken host from the
surface of the corporal.

At the Consecration the bread becomes Jesus
under the appearance of bread.

CHALICE VEIL
Chalice veil is a cloth made of the same material
and color of the priest vestments. It is used to
cover the chalice when it is carried to or from
the altar.

Is known as the corporal case made of stiff
cardboard and covered in linen and is the same
color as the chalice veil
