The Stations of the Cross
7
Legend has it that the Stations of the Cross,
also known as the Via Dolorosa or the Via Crucis,
were first walked by Jesus mother, Mary, in the
years following his death, burial, and
resurrection.
8
By the end of the fourth century, scores of
pilgrims came to Jerusalem every year to walk
along the Via Dolorosa, which traces Jesus path
from Pilates house to Calvary.
9
By the Middle Ages, Christians were recreating
the Via Dolorosa all over Europe, some measuring
the exact distances between stations.
10
Today, the Stations can be found in most Roman
Catholic churches, and they are most often walked
during Lent and especially during Holy Week.
11
Now, let us journey with our Lord on the Stations
of the Cross, as millions of Christ-followers
have over two millennia...

This is how we know what love is
34
God sent his one and only Son into the world
that we might live through him.
35
This is love, not that we loved God, but that he
loved us
36
and sent his Son to die for our sins
37
