- Use fruit and vegetables in Season
- Importance of eating a variety of fruit and
vegetables - Portion size is also important if they want to
keep the weight off. - Energy in should be equal to energy out. If you
eat more you have to move more!!!
10Cooking Demonstration
- A team from the Tongan Health Society went to
different churches and deliver nutrition sessions

- Healthy cooking methods is demonstrated to
members of Orakei Free Church of Tonga. No oil
or salt is needed, trim fat off meat, use less
meat and more vegetables, also use vegetable in
season.

- Water is the best and fist choice
- All 10 churches had water coolers
- Family homes
- Other churches outside of the HVAZ zone.
- Non or less fizzy drinks

- Church had own instructor

- EXERCISE IS VERY POPULAR!!!
13GET THE BLOOD FLOWING PROGRAMME
- An Exercise programme had been established at the
Tongan Health Society which is called Get the
Blood Flowing Programme. The class is for the
staff of the THS and anybody from the Public who
is interested.

16Fruit for Sunday School
- By encouraging children to eat fruit and
vegetables. Fruit for Sunday School is a new
initiative for Tongan Church. Sunday School start
at 10am, 11.40 am is fruit time before the
service at 12pm. These are children from Otara
Parish, Otara.
