THE EARTHLY SANCTUARY

• Verses 1-5
• First covenant had ordinances of divine service
  and an earthly sanctuary
• Tabernacle had two parts
• First Lampstand, the table, Showbread
• Second Holiest of All Golden censer ark of
  the covenant the golden pot of manna Aarons
  rod that budded and the tablets
• Above it were the cherubim over mercy seat.

Limitations Verses 6-10

• Priest always went into first part serving
• In Most Holy Place High priest went once a year
  with blood for him then for the sins of the
  people committed in ignorance.
• While it stood it signified way wasnt open into
  the holiest place.
• Symbolic of time of gifts and sacrifices which
  cannot bring perfection.
• Had foods, drinks, various washings and
  ordinances.

THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY

• Verses 11-15
• Christ came to better, perfect tabernacle not
  made with hands.
• Not with blood of goats and calves but His own
  blood offered once for all for eternal
  redemption.
• For if blood of bulls and goats sanctifies for
  the purifying of the flesh.

• How much more shall the blood of Christ,
• Who through the Eternal Spirit
• Offered Himself without spot to God
• Cleanse your conscience from dead works
• To serve the living God.
• For this reason He is the Mediator of the New
  Covenant
• By means of death
• For the redemption of the transgressions under
  the first covenant

• That those who are called may receive the promise
  of the eternal inheritance.

The Mediators death necessary

• Verses 16-22
• For a testament to have force the testator must
  die
• Not even the fist covenant was dedicated without
  blood
• By the law, almost all things are purified with
  blood.
• Without the shedding of blood there is no
  remission.

Christ great sacrifice

• Verses 23-28
• If the copies were sanctified with blood the
  heavenly must have a better sacrifice.
• Christ entered heaven to appear in the presence
  of God for us.
• Not to offer Himself often.
• He appeared once to put away sin by offering
  Himself

• And as it is appointed to man once to die but
  after this the judgment.
• So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of
  many
• To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear
  a second time apart from sin for salvation.
