Not All Worship Is Acceptable

• Worship can be vain Matt 157-9
• Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you,
  saying These people draw near to Me with their
  mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their
  heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship
  Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of
  men.

• And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has
  enabled me, because He counted me faithful,
  putting me into the ministry, although I was
  formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an
  insolent man but I obtained mercy because I did
  it ignorantly in unbelief. (1 Timothy 112-13)

• God is spirit, so our worship must be spiritual
  in nature
• Under the Law, worship consisted of fleshly

In the NT Spiritual temple 1 Cor 316-17 Do you
not know that you are the temple of God and that
the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone
defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him.
For the temple of God is holy, which temple you
are.

  spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up

• But you are a chosen generation, a royal
  priesthood, a holy nation, His own special
  people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him

• We must also worship in truth
• Not just commandment keeping or true vs
