- The kids loved the pizza and the soup when I made
it at home - People have learned and tasted things they have
never tasted before because they are on a low
budget - Ive lost 8 lbs since coming to the class
thanks, couldnt do it without the support
17Physical activities
- Its great having a keep fit group in our area
it saves on buses and its a really great way to
meet new people - Feel better in myself and want to do more
physical things - Found the walk enjoyable on many levels meeting
new people from different backgrounds and age
groups and also keeping fit
18Health Checks and Talks
- I feel I can open up to you, not like the GP or
other nurses. I have told you about . I have
not told anyone that before - All information was relevant learned a lot
about blood pressure and measurements of the body - This has been really helpful I now understand
more about REM sleep and why my baby keeps waking
up
19Mental Wellbeing
- I feel its helping me identify what is causing
me stressI get a chance to relax and have a
laugh and learn stress management techniques - I find a big change in myself and Im actually
starting to like myself, plus I am feeling more
confident - Gave my daughters a hand massage, they said it
was great. Its the most peace and quiet Ive had
for ages, they went to bed straight away
20Community Capacity Building
- Getting involved with the project turned my life
around. I used to be fat and unfit now Im
healthy, working and want to learn more. - Being a member of this group opened so many doors
for me - Made me more confident and able to respect
myself. I have grown in strength and, in turn,
this helps my son
