Status Report 2006 ISO/TC 67/WG 7
  • In Europe ISO 15156 Parts 1, 2 and 3 were adopted
as European Standards for identical national
implementation in all 29 member countries of the
European standardisation organisation CEN as EN
ISO 15156-1, -2, -3 replacing any former national
standards in the CEN member countries.
  • In the USA, the technical content was accepted
for MR0175 and was re-adopted in December 2003,
becoming NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 and thus replacing
    the former MR0175.

  • Maintenance of ISO 15156 / NACE MR0175
  • ISO/TC 67/WG 7 and the Oversight Committee (OSC)
NACE TG299 are jointly taking care of the
maintenance process for this standard with the
    help of a Maintenance Panel
  • Background information on the ISO 15156 series
can be obtained from two homepages

Status Report 2006 ISO/TC 67/WG 7
  • Organisation / Structure of Maintenance
  • Maintenance Panel (chair Derek Milliams, UK,
replacing Jim Skogsberg, USA 15 experts).

Status Report 2006 ISO/TC 67/WG 7
  • Procedure of maintenance
  • Users of ISO 15156-1, -2, -3 / NACE MR0175 resp,
propose corrections, changes and/or additions to
    the Maintenance Panel (MP).
  • MP discusses these items and submits suggestions
for acceptable changes/additions to WG 7 / OSC
    NACE TG299.
  • WG 7 / OSC NACE TG299 jointly discuss these items
and decide on technical corrigenda and amendments
of ISO 15156 and NACE MR0175 respectively.

  • NWI Non-metallics
  • NWI/ISO 15156-4 was withdrawn (final agreement
with Resolution 21/2005, Pretoria) and replaced
by a NWI for a separate ISO standard for
non-metallic materials for use in the oil and
    natural gas production.
  • ISO/TC 67 confirmed the NWI by Resolution 13/2004
at their 24th plenary meeting in Rio de Janeiro
    on 2004-10-06/07.

Status Report 2006 ISO/TC 67/WG 7
  • The new work item has the following title
  • Petroleum and natural gas industries
    Non-metallic
  • materials in contact with media related to oil
    and gas
  • production.
  • It will consist of 5 parts
  • Part 1 Thermoplastics
  • Part 2 Elastomers
  • Part 3 Thermosets
  • Part 4 Fiber reinforced composites
  • Part 5 Other non-metallic materials
  • Part 1 (Thermoplastics) is being prepared
    (currently CD stage).
  • Parts 2 to 5 were registered as preliminary work
    items (PWI) with
  • work to be initiated once Part 1 is mature.
