PROVISION OF DRY RATION / INSTANT EATABLE FOOD
PACKAGE IN THE FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS OF THE
PROVINCE OF BALOCHISTAN

The recent cyclone in Arabian Sea and torrential
rains has in undated the costal areas of the
Balochistan, thereby causing a sustainable loss
to the human lives and property. The
unprecedented heavy rains in the province of
Balochistan has rendered thousands of the people
shelter less and without food. The costal areas
of Balochistan like Gawadar, Pasni, Ormara are
badly affected. Besides, other districts like
Bolan, Jhal Magsi, and Jaffarabad have also been
badly affected.

TASK ASSIGNED
In order to provide the essential food / dry
ration in the affectees in province of
Balochistan, the ERC, Cabinet Division placed a
demand of provision of food bags of dry ration
consisting of following composition-

STOCKS SUPPLIED
In deference to the demand placed by the ERC
(Emergency Relief Cell) Cabinet Division, the USC
has supplied the following stocks to ERC from
27th June 2007 onwards as under from Rawalpindi
Islamabad which was air lifted-

OPERATION FROM KARACHI
The Chairman National Disaster Management
Authority asked the Managing Director USC on
telephone for supply of stock of dry ration and
instant eatable food items having the following
composition from the following stations / Regions
of USC in the province Sindh province through
vehicles / trucks-

MODE OF OPERATION
The USC has made arrangements fo packing of 8000
bags of the dry ration and instant eatable
packets which are being delivered at Forward Base
camp at Jaccobabad,
STOCKS SUPPLIED ON 01-07-2007
On the first day of operation the following
quantities of dry ration have been supplied /
delivered to Jaccobabad by the Corporation.
a. Hyderabad - 2400 Bags b. Nawab Shah - 2000
Bags c. Sukkur - 3000 Bags d. Karachi - The
packing arrangements have been accelerated and
the quantity / volume of the ration will
accordingly be increased.
