Objectives of Marie-Curie Actions
  • Providing broad support for the development of
abundant and dynamic world class human resources
in the European research system, taking into
account the inherent international dimension of
    research ...

7
Particular attention is given in the work
programme to
  • the development of research activity in the less
favored regions of EU (new member states,
    candidate states..)
  • the need for increased and more effective
    co-operation between research disciplines and
between academia and industry, including SMEs
  • the participation of women in all actions
  • the personal circumstances relating mobility with
respect to family, career development and
    languages

8
 HRM Continuity and Evolution
  • Maintain the bottom-up approach (within the
framework of objective targets and deliverables)
  • Diversity/coherence/complementary of actions
  • Inclusion of third country researchers (in all of
the host actions and in specific individual
    actions)
  • Removal of the age limit
  • Enlargement and reinforcement of the return
    mechanisms and professional reintegration
  • New measures for the promotion of excellence
  • The name Marie Curie will apply to all actions

HRM The Marie-Curie Actions
  • Host Actions (Research Training Networks, early
stage host fellowships, conferences and training
courses, fellowships for transfer of knowledge)
  • Individual Actions (individual intra-European
    fellowships, outgoing, incoming)
  • Excellence Promotion and Recognition (grants,
    awards and chairs)
  • Return and Reintegration Mechanisms

11
HRM Host Actions I
  • Marie Curie Research Training Networks
  • Training of young researchers through the
promotion of mobility and integration in an
    international collaborative project consisting of
    high-level research teams.
  • Marie Curie Host Fellowships for Early Stage
    Research
  • Structured training for young researchers
within European higher education, research and
    training centers and/or enterprises including
SMEs with the focus on acquisition of specific
    scientific and technological competencies in
research as well as complementary skills.
  • Marie Curie Conferences and Training Courses
  • Enable young researchers to benefit from the
experience of leading researchers through support
for the organisation of conferences and courses
    with a specific training value.

12
HRM Host Actions II
  • Marie Curie Host Fellowships for the Transfer of
    Knowledge
  • Marie Curie Development Scheme
  • Reinforcement of the research potential of host
institutions with priority of those situated in
less favoured regions of the Member States and
candidate countries that exhibit a need for
complementary knowledge from a economic and
social cohesion point of view .
  • Marie Curie Strategic partnership of
    academia-industry
  • Development of strategic and durable partnerships
between the world of academia and the one of
enterprises, in particular SMEs aiming at the
establishment of lasting collaborations of mutual
    interest.

13
HRM Individual Fellowships
  • Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships
  • Training through research of most promising
researchers from Member States and Candidate
    Countries in European organisations
  • Marie Curie Outgoing International Fellowships
  • To enable European researchers to work in
    established third country research centers
  • Reintegration mechanism
  • Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowships
  • To attract high-level and promising researchers
from third countries to undertake research
    training in Europe.
  • Possible reintegration/return mechanism

14
Excellence Promotion and Recognition
  • Marie Curie Grants for Excellence Teams
  • Providing support for the creation and initial
    development of transnational research teams.
  • Marie Curie Chairs
  • Appointment of world-class researchers to use
their research experience for teaching European
    researchers .
  • Marie Curie Excellence Awards
  • Public recognition of excellence achieved by
researchers who have previously benefited from
Community support of their training and mobility.

15
Return and Reintegration mechanisms
  • For researchers who have benefited from a Marie
    Curie Action
  • An opportunity for researchers to endorse and
capitalise on their transnational mobility period
after at least a 24 months MC grant under the 6
FP or any training/mobility action of previous
    Framework Programmes.
  • For European researchers having left for a third
country since more than 5 years
  • Reinforce the attractiveness of Europe by
encouraging European researchers to return to a
Member State or Associated Candidate Country in
order to contribute to European research and
    transfer of knowledge.
  • Stimulate the development of lasting cooperation
with the scientific and/or industrial milieu of
the third country from which they have returned.
