TAG 2007
4181 Wire Rope
TAG 2007
Used on winches and blocks to move, lift and
lower heavy items. Also used for towing tractors
and heavy equipment, and for logging operations.
It is made of multiple strands (6 or 8) each
containing approximately 19 wires twisted into a
rope. The safety factor for the selection of
rope is five times the breaking strength. Before
cutting, securely bind the rope on each side of
the cut. To coil or uncoil, roll the rope like a
steel hoop.
Home
5182 Wire Rope Clamps
Used for clamping two cables together or in
forming a loop on the end of a cable. There are
two types, the U bolt with cleat and the bolt
clamp.

TAG 2007
6183 Back Saw
Used for bench sawing of dovetail joints, dado
joints and other joints where the wood is held in
a vise. The back and teeth edges are straight.
The back is stiffened by a steel strap. Sizes
range from 8 to 18 inches long. The shorter the
saw the finer the teeth. This saw should be used
in a horizontal position.

TAG 2007
7184 Coping Saw
Used to cut circles and curves in thin materials.
The size is determined by the depth of the
throat and the length of the saw blade. Blades
can be locked in any position. The blade is
installed to cut on the pull stroke.

8185 Hack Saw
TAG 2007

Home
9186 Hand Cross Cut Saw
Used for cutting across the grain of the wood.
The front edge of the teeth are filled at 15
degrees from vertical while the file is held at
60 degrees across the saw. The standard length
is 26 inches. Typically 8-12 teeth/inch.
Home
TAG 2007
10187 Hand Rip Saw
Used to saw (rip) with the grain of the wood.
The most common size is 5 ½ points per inch. The
front edge of the teeth is perpendicular to the
tooth line. The edges of the teeth are not
beveled, but are shaped like chisels. Typically
4-7 teeth/inch.
Home
TAG 2007
11188 Keyhole or Compass Saw
Used for sawing curves, especially where the cut
must be started from a hole bored with an auger

Saw sizes range from 26 to 30 inches long.
