Kindergarten / 1st Grade
Learning Students will focus on basic locomotor,
non-locomotor, and manipulative skills.
Cooperation and movement will be a focus in P.E.
By the end of 1st grade, all students should be
able to run, leap, hop, slide, skip, gallop, and
jump with control. Students should also be able
to work cooperatively with others. Extras We
will also have a field day at the end of the
school year, and parents are invited to
attend. Supplies Students must have tennis
shoes that tie tightly.

2nd Grade
Learning Students will continue to improve
cooperation skills, locomotor movements, and
non-locomotor skills. They should also be
demonstrating more advanced manipulative skills
such as throwing, catching, kicking, trapping,
dribbling, and striking. We will implement a
variety of units throughout the school year for
students to participate in. Units may include
cooperative games, basketball, soccer, track and
field, softball, rhythm and dance, tennis,
volleyball, and frisbee golf. Extras We will
have a field day at the end of the school year,
and parents are invited to attend. Supplies
Students must have tennis shoes that tie tightly.

P.E.
3rd Grade
Learning Students will continue to improve
cooperation skills, locomotor movements, and
non-locomotor skills. Students will begin playing
lead-up games for sport units, focusing on skills
rather than competition. Cooperation continues
to be a focus. Students will begin to understand
some of the benefits of exercise and learn to
make quality decisions regarding their health.
A variety of units will be taught throughout the
year. Some of the units may include cooperative
games, basketball, soccer, hockey, softball,
tennis, volleyball, and frisbee golf. Extras We
will also have a field day at the end of the
school year, and parents are invited to
attend. Supplies Students must have tennis shoes
that tie tightly.

4th Grade
Learning The ability to make quality decisions
regarding individual health will be emphasized.
Control when performing movements will be a focus
in 4th grade. Students will also demonstrate
knowledge of games, rules, and strategies.
Students will begin playing lead-up games for
sport units, focusing on skills rather than
competition. Cooperation continues to be a
focus. A variety of units will be taught
throughout the year. Some of the units may
include cooperative games, basketball, soccer,
hockey, softball, tennis, volleyball, and frisbee
golf. Extras 4th grade students may qualify to
compete in the district track meet held at Sand
Creek H.S. at the end of the school year. We
will also have a field day at the end of the
school year, and parents are invited to
attend. Supplies Students must have tennis shoes
that tie tightly.

P.E.
5th Grade
Learning Students will participate in a variety
of sports including individual, team, and dual
sports. Some of the units may include
cooperative games, basketball, soccer, hockey,
track and field, softball, tennis, and frisbee
golf. Students should exhibit knowledge of some
major muscle groups such as tricep, bicep,
abdominals, quadricep, hamstring, gastrocnemius,
pectoralis major, latissimus dorsi, trapezius,
and deltoid. In addition to playing the sports,
students will also be required to referee and
score-keep in some units. It is important for
all students to understand the rules and
strategies of all sport activities covered in
class. Extras 5th graders may qualify to
compete in the district-wide track and field meet
at Sand Creek H.S. at the end of the year. We
will also have a field day full of physical
activity and fun. Supplies Students must have
tennis shoes that tie tightly.

Events
  • Jump Rope for Heart A fundraiser for the
    American Heart
  • Association to assist in the support
    for a cure for heart
  • disease.
  • 4th and 5th District Track and Field Meet All
    schools send
  • approximately 17 4th graders and 17
    5th graders to compete
  • against other schools. This event
    is held at Sand Creek H.S.
  • Field Day Each grade level has a field day in
    May. This is a day
  • to interact in physical activities
    with others and have fun.
  • We sell snacks to raise money for
    P.E. equipment. Come
  • join in the fun!!
