• AIMS
• Determine the relationship between the co-located
  genes encoding for tmRNA and TM0504-like peptide
  in hyperthermophiles
• Identify and investigate specific ORFs encoded by
  model hyperthermophilic microorganisms that are
  differentially expressed at high cell densities
  or under specific growth conditions
• OUTCOMES
• Determine the presence and nature of coupled
  signaling processes occurring between populations
  of hyperthermophilic organsms
• Characterize specific signaling processes
  occurring in hyperthermophilic organisms.
• Elucidate the function of orthologs to the
  putative signaling peptide, TM0504, in T.
  maritima and in other hyperthermophiles.
