  • CASE 1
  • Shirley Webster mother aged 54yrs
  • 2 sons Sean Webster 15yrs and Simon Webster
    14yrs, 1 daughter Kayleigh Baker 12yrs,
  • Ex partner Dave Baker still resides in family
    home
  • Sean has had increasingly sporadic attendance at
    school, numerous periods of exclusion, now on
    reduced timetable and been through various
    specialist arrangements, Sean is supervised by
    YOT increasingly disaffected education
    system has no further options to offer - at
    16yrs Sean will pass over to NEET system
  • Simon still at present in main stream school,
    however, is now on ABC, his name is increasingly
    being mentioned in ASB on the estate Simon has
    YISP caseworker
  • Kayleigh has persistently truanted in years 7 and
    8, exhibits very challenging behaviour, cant
    follow rules, there have been complaints of her
    bullying another child, poor at making friends
    enjoys adult attention
  • Mother Shirley has 2 older children from a
    previous relationship a son 34yrs and daughter
    30yrs and has been on benefits continuously
    since 1973
  • Mother Shirley admits she has difficulties
    controlling her children and wants to help has
    been referred to parenting support session but
    only attended once
  • Sean and Simons father lives around the corner

  • Gregory Phillips 13yrs has recently been excluded
    from school and has reading and writing
    difficulties
  • Gregory is clinically obese
  • Gregorys mum Denise has disclosed that she
    cannot read or write, Denise is suffering from
    depression and has a drink dependency for which
    she is receiving some support
  • The Phillips have been the subject of verbal
    abuse from other residents in the area
  • CASE 3
  • Jennifer and Gareth Thompson have 3 children all
    teenagers there is a history of domestic
    violence
  • Father Gareth Thompson receives Incapacity
    benefit due to a work related back injury
  • Jennifer volunteers in the local charity shop 10
    hours a week
  • Jennifers son Calvin has a YISP worker and is
    responding to positive intervention, Calvins
    close friend committed suicide last year Calvin
    needs bereavement counselling
  • Mr Mrs Thompson have been referred to PPP
  • Jennifer provides care for her mother who lives
    on the estate
