Shielding Calcs

• Release of NCRP reports 145 and 147
• Some things easier, some things a lot harder
• Thumbrules
• A room shielded under NCRP report 49 should be
  overly conservative but must be reviewed.
• A typical 70 kVp dental IO X-ray tube, 0.7 meters
  from the wall, will shield a 100 occupied office
  for up to 10 X-ray exams per day but must be
  reviewed.
