Course Description
  • Chancellors EO665 requires that students who
    score lower than 550 on math SAT must pass the
    ELM placement exam or enroll in LS classes.
  • These required courses must be completed within a
    year of enrollment or the student will be
    dismissed from California State University.
  • Passage of one semester of LS 10A satisfies the
    ELM placement requirement for those that scored
    36-48 on the ELM placement exam.
  • LS 10A reviews fundamental concepts, elementary
    algebra, and measurement Geometry in an algebra
    context.
  • In the multimedia format, lessons, quizzes,
    midterms, and part of the Final are done on the
    ALEKS computer tutorial.

Attendance Requirements
  • Attendance is essential for your success. Do not
    miss any classes in your Summer Bridge program.
    If you are not going to be in class you must
    contact the EOP office immediately.

Lab Hours Required
  • Normally it takes 40-50 hours of ALEKS work to
    complete the ALEKS program at the minimum 70
    level.
  • Open hours in this lab will be available and may
    be assigned at the instructors discretion.
  • Additional hours may be logged from home or other
    campus labs.

Chancellors EO 665 Mandate
  • Chancellors EO665 requires that students who
    score lower than 550 on math SAT must pass the
    ELM placement exam or take LS classes.
  • Students must finish any required LS math courses
    within a year of enrollment or they will be
    dismissed from California State University.
  • Passage of LS 10A satisfies this requirement.

Grading Standards
  • Complete at least 70 of ALEKS.
  • Score at least 25 out of 45 on the EGAD exam.
  • Achieve a final exam score of at least 70.
  • Student must take all midterm exams to be
    eligible to take final.
  • Grades CR, RP, and NC.

ALEKS Quick Start for Students withALEKS access
code.
  • Log on to www.highedmath.aleks.com/
  • Click on Register with ALEKS .
  • Type in the course code given to you by your
    instructor, then click next.
  • Type in the access code found in the back of your
    ALEKS booklet.
  • Begin the tools tutorial and then the assessment.
  • First time users at home load in the appropriate
    plug-ins.
