Title: Eternally Secure
1Eternally Secure
2Gods Viewpoint
- There are two kinds of people in the world
- Lost people
- Saved people
3Two Principles
- If you do not have a true understanding of
salvation, you will not be able to understand
eternal security. - If you do not have a true understanding of
eternal security, you do not have a true
understanding of salvation.
4a major misconception
- Most Christians today think that God relates to
man through His love. - The truth
- God relates to man through His INTEGRITY, of
which His love is only a part
5immutable
- God never changes the way in which He deals with
us. -
- God does not love us when we are good,
-
- and then stop loving us when we are bad.
6GODS INTEGRITY
- Justice
- Righteousness
- Love
7GODS INTEGRITY
- Three Principles
- righteousness demands righteousness.
- justice demands justice.
- What the righteousness of God demands, the
justice of God executes.
8Righteousness Justice
9Gods Word
- Romans 310 as it is written, "There is none
righteous, not even one - Romans 323 for all have sinned and fall short
of the glory of God, - Romans 623 For the wages of sin is death, .
10Romans 623
- Death means separation from God.
- Separation from God is called spiritual death.
- Sin is singular not plural (sins)
- Adams Original Sin (AOS)
- Born physically alive, but spiritually dead
11What does this mean?
- Every single human being , from the moment of
physical birth, stands condemned, deserving only
cursing from God.
12Gods Word
- Romans 623 . . . . but the free gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Acts 1631 And they said, "Believe in the Lord
Jesus, and you shall be saved, . . . . - John 316 "For God so loved the world, that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
13God did NOT say
- whoever believes in Him, and joins a church,
should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and gets baptized,
should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and sings in the choir,
should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and stops sinning,
should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and stops drinking
alcohol, should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and stops smoking,
should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and tithes, should not
perish, - whoever believes in Him, and becomes like
Christ, should not perish, - whoever believes in Him, and reads the Bible
every day, should not perish,
14Gods Word
- John 316
- whoever believes,
- whosoever believeth,
- anyone who believes,
- everyone who believes,
- pas ho pisteuoon,
- ang tanan nga mosalig,
- ang tanan nga motoo,
- ang tagsatagsa nga nagatuo.
15Gods Word
16Gods Word
- Ephesians 28-9
- For by grace you have been saved through faith
and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of
God not as a result of works, that no one should
boast. - 1 John 21-2
- My little children, I am writing these things to
you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we
have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ
the righteous and He Himself is the
propitiation for our sins and not for ours only,
but also for those of the whole world.
17Gods Word
- Philippians 25-8
- Have this attitude in yourselves which was also
in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the
form of God, did not regard equality with God a
thing to be grasped, Who, being in the form of
God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God
but emptied Himself, taking the form of a
bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of
men. And being found in appearance as a man, He
humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point
of death, even death on a cross. (NAS)
18Gods Word
- Mark 1525
- And it was the third hour when they crucified
Him. - Luke 2334
- But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them for
they do not know what they are doing." And they
cast lots, dividing up His garments among
themselves.
19Gods Word
- Matthew 2745-46
- Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all
the land until the ninth hour. And about the
ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice,
saying," Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? "that is,"
My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me? - 2 Corinthians 521 He made Him who knew no sin
to be sin on our behalf, that we might become
the righteousness of God in Him. - Galatians 313 Christ redeemed us from the curse
of the Law, having become a curse for us-- for it
is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a
tree"
20Gods Word
- John 1930
- When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine,
He said, It is finished! - Luke 2346
- And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said,
"Father, into Thy hands I commit My spirit." And
having said this, He breathed His last.
21Questions
- How many sins were paid for by Christ on the
cross? - What sins were not paid for by Christ on the
cross? - What sin could you possibly commit today or
tomorrow or next month or next year that Christ
did not pay for on the cross?
221 Corinthians 118 For the word of the cross is
foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us
who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1522 For as in Adam all die, so
also in Christ all will be made alive.
2 Corinthians 517 Therefore if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creature the old things
passed away behold, new things have come.
23The Spiritual Life
- Gods Divine Viewpoint
- Lost people
- Saved people
- Among The Saved
- Spiritual believers
- Carnal believers
24Gods Word
- The self-life the old man
- Empowered by the sin nature
- The new life the new man
- Empowered by the Holy Spirit
25Gods Word
- Romans 715-23
- For what I am doing, I do not understand for I
am not practicing what I would like to do
but I am doing the very thing I hate. But if I
do the very thing I do not want to do I agree
with the Law, confessing that the Law is good.
So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin
which dwells in me. For I know that nothing good
dwells in me, that is, in my flesh for the
willing is present in me, but the doing of the
good is not. For the good that I want, I do
not do, but I practice the very evil that I do
not want. But if I am doing the very thing I do
not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but
sin which dwells in me. I find then the
principle that evil is present in me, the one who
wants to do good. For I joyfully concur with the
law of God in the inner man, but I see a
different law in the members of my body, waging
war against the law of my mind and making me a
prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.

alive from the dead, and your members as

40Gods Word
- Hebrews 124-7
- You have not yet resisted to the point of
shedding blood in your striving against sin and
you have forgotten the exhortation which is
addressed to you as sons, "My son, do not regard
lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint
when you are reproved by Him For those whom the
Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every
son whom He receives. It is for discipline that
you endure God deals with you as with sons for
what son is there whom his father does not
discipline? (NAS)
41(No Transcript)
42- we never stop being sons
- Eternally secure!
- A spiritual son will be blessed
- A carnal son will be disciplined
43Gods Word
- 2 Corinthians 510
- For we must all appear before the judgment seat
of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed
for his deeds in the body, according to what he
has done, whether good or bad. (NAS)
44Gods Word
- 1 CORINTHIANS 310-15
- ACCORDING TO THE GRACE OF GOD WHICH WAS GIVEN TO
ME, LIKE A WISE MASTER BUILDER I LAID A
FOUNDATION, AND ANOTHER IS BUILDING ON IT. BUT
EACH MAN MUST BE CAREFUL HOW HE BUILDS ON IT.
FOR NO MAN CAN LAY A FOUNDATION OTHER THAN THE
ONE WHICH IS LAID, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST. NOW IF
ANY MAN BUILDS ON THE FOUNDATION WITH GOLD,
SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES, WOOD, HAY, STRAW, EACH
MAN'S WORK WILL BECOME EVIDENT FOR THE DAY WILL
SHOW IT BECAUSE IT IS TO BE REVEALED WITH FIRE,
AND THE FIRE ITSELF WILL TEST THE QUALITY OF EACH
MAN'S WORK. IF ANY MAN'S WORK WHICH HE HAS BUILT
ON IT REMAINS, HE WILL RECEIVE A REWARD. IF ANY
MAN'S WORK IS BURNED UP, HE WILL SUFFER LOSS BUT
HE HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED, YET SO AS THROUGH FIRE.
(NAS)
45The Spiritual Life
- How do I insure that I am a spiritual believer
and not a carnal believer? - You must be clean before the Lord.
- You must choose to live a life of obedience.
- You must be walking by means of the Holy Spirit.
46The Spiritual Life
- 1 John 19 If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NAS) - 1 Thessalonians 519 Do not quench the Spirit
(NAS) - Ephesians 430 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit
of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of
redemption. (NAS) - Galatians 516 But I say, walk by the Spirit,
and you will not carry out the desire of the
flesh. (NAS)
47The Spiritual Life
- Romans 613 and do not go on presenting the
members of your body to sin as instruments of
unrighteousness but present yourselves to God as
those alive from the dead, and your members as
instruments of righteousness to God. (NAS) - Ephesians 518 And do not get drunk with wine,
for that is dissipation, but be filled with by
means of the Spirit, (NAS)
48The Spiritual Life
- the only greatness worth pursuing in life was the
greatness of grace, - the only race worth running was the race of
faith, - the only fight worth fighting was the good fight,
- the only words worth hearing were the words of
approval from the Lord Jesus Christ,
"Well done, good and faithful servant!"
