Objective
To prepare graduates with the knowledge and skill
in operational management of power utilities.
Issues dealt
Evolving electric utility business environment,
organization and finance of a power utility,
regulatory development, demand-side management,
integrated resource planning, power system

distribution management.
Facilities available
A simulation laboratory, supported with the
necessary hardware and software facilities, and
tools for power system analysis, simulation,
planning, optimization and management.
Preferred background
Degree in electrical engineering and other
discipline, technology and applied science with
background/experience related to electrical
industry.

Objective
To prepare graduates for positions in economics
or planning departments of energy ministries,
energy companies, electric and gas utilities,
independent power producers (IPPs), energy

Energy Laboratory
- Energy laboratory facilities include two indoor
laboratories, an Energy Park, and a
meteorological station. - The indoor laboratories are equipped with
experiment setups, testing apparatus and
measuring equipment for thermal and electrical
management studies. - Energy computer laboratory has software for
power system simulation, simulation of thermal
equipment and modeling of energy system. - Energy Park covers 3980 square meters outdoor
research and demonstration facilities. - The meteorological station measures and records
direct, diffuse and global solar radiation and
other meteorological and daylighting data.
