Paper Sort

• Once paper is collected in your blue bin, it is
  brought to a Materials Recycling Facility, or MRF
  for short (pronounced like smurf without the s)
• Now its your turn!
• In small groups, complete the Blindfolded Paper
  Sort
• In pairs or small groups select a group member to
  close their eyes or put on the blindfold.
• Using your sense of touch, sort the paper samples
  into different categories. Try to identify paper
  that you think is the same quality and could be
  recycled together to make new paper. In Waukesha
  our MRF divides paper into 3 categories.
• When you are done copy down on your groups tally
  sheet and let the next group member complete the
  activity.
• Once all of your group members have gone, compare
  and contrast what you each individually decided.
  Agree on 1 organization and share your
  information on the board.

• Cardboard Boxboard (cereal boxes)
• Newspapers Slicks (magazines)
• Office Paper Junk Mail
