• Clara Barton was born on December 25, 1821.
• She was born in her house.
• She was born on Christmas day!

What was her early life like?

• Clara was 4 when she started school.
• Clara moved to a farm when she was 8 years old.
• Claras brother David taught her to ride a horse
  when she was 5. (but they probably didnt have
  too much time on school days!)

• Clara got the Germany Iron Cross for helping in
  the Franco-Prussian war.
• Clara spent most of her life helping people.

• She was president of the Red Cross for 23 years.
