Figurative Language
Figurative language is using every expressions
that are not literally true to convey meaning.
Expressions such as Im going to lose my mind!
arent literally true (I hope), but we understand
this figuratively as I am overwhelmed or
frustrated.

  • Hyperbole is extreme exaggeration it may be used

  • Onomatopoeia is a word that is spelled like it

seem contradictory. They are opposite in meaning.
