Persons Requiring Assistance(PRA)
  • PRA Level I An individual with a short-term
    condition, who may experience some difficulty in
    exiting the building, but are still capable of
    exiting the building in the event of an
    emergency, with the aid of an attendant.
  • PRA Level II An individual with a major
    mobility restriction (i.e. Wheelchair-bound).
    These persons will receive professional
    support/assistance from the Toronto Fire Service.
  • These persons must have an attendant assigned
    to them

  • Shelter on Current Floor
  • Advise current location
  • Assist and reassure persons requiring assistance

  1. Put on appropriate attire and take pager if
    backup to Floor Warden
  2. Carry out duties of primary
  3. Check in with team
  4. Exit the building
  5. Assemble outside at designated meeting location
  • Assume full responsibilities when primary is
    absent

b) What should I do if I see smoke or fire?
Remain calm
  • Leave immediately
  • Close doors behind you
  • Activate a pull station
  • Use the stairwell to exit
  • Dial 911
  • Call the Security Control Centre at 416-947-7666

Remember Elevatorsare UNAVAILABLE during an
alarm

c) What should I do in a medical emergency?
Remain calm
  • Stay with the victim and provide first aid
  • Ask someone to call 911
  • Ask someone to call 416-947-7666
  • Ask someone to wait at the service elevator

Provide address, floor and suite numbers, and the
nature of the problem.
Security will respond with first aid and AED
equipment.

d) How should I react to a bomb threat?
Remain calm
  • Follow your companys bomb threat procedures in
    handling the caller
  • Report the threat to the Security Control Centre
    at 416-947-7666

Use land-line phones only Do not use cell phones
