  • Young breathe underwater using gills, as adults

  • Rarely have scales
  • Hatch eggs in the water
  • Examples Frogs, salamanders, toads, bull frogs

  • Tough, dry skin with horny scales
  • Most adults are carnivorous
  • Most hatch from eggs laid on land
  • Young and adults breathe with lung
  • Eggs have a leathery shell
  • Examples Turtles, snakes, lizards, iguanas
