Grading
  • 50 Major Performances/Tests/Projects
  • 25 Daily Performances/Quizzes
  • 25 Participation/Preparation

  • Required Daily Supplies
  • All students must bring a 3 subject spiral
    notebook that is used only for Theatre.
  • (Theatre spirals that were used last year may
    be used again this year.)
  • Pens and pencils
  • Student planner
  • Make-up supplies are not brought to class until
    the 2nd semester and are due by Jan. 10.

Required Stage Make-up Supplies
  • Small plastic shoe box
  • Light facial moisturizer
  • Soft wash cloth
  • Facial soap or cleanser
  • Old button down long sleeve shirt that is larger
    than the student so that it can be worn over
    clothing and costumes. (This will get dirty.)
  • 1 package of make-up wedges
  • Make-up or Hypo-Allergenic wipes
  • Skin conditions

  • Required Supplies for grade levels
  • 6th Grade classes must provide one large box of
    tissue.
  • Advanced Theatre students must also provide a
    small eye liner brush with slanted bristles for
    our animal make-up unit.
  • The brushes can be purchased at Walgreens, CVS,
    Sallys Beauty Supply, Wal Mart, Target, etc.

IMPORTANT
  • The students first and last name and class
    period must be written with a permanent marker or
    Sharpie on every item.
  • Computer labels may also be used.
  • Please test all products on the students skin
    before sending these items to school.

Homework
  • Most homework is preparation for a performance.
  • The students are encouraged to perform in front
    of an adult or older sibling. (Pets do not count
    as an audience.)
  • Tests are normally the performance. There is an
    Areas of the Stage test. However, I schedule a
    quiz before the test.
  • Printer Problems
  • The student may e-mail their work to me as an
    ATTACHMENT to my direct e-mail address. I will
    print their work for them. Printer problems are
    not an excuse for late or missing homework. The
    Teacher Web does not allow attachments.
    Otherwise, if the work is sent in an e-mail on
    this site it becomes jumbled together.

Parent Pick Up Procedures
  • Students must be picked up on time in the bus
    circle.
  • If you are not on time, you must come to the
    Theatre Arts room to pick up your child.
  • Disruptive students will receive discipline
    consequences according to KISDs policies.
  • Students must make prior arrangements for pickup.
    No last minute calls.
  • Teachers cannot leave until all students are
    picked up.

Class One Act Plays require Mandatoryparticipatio
n from all students.
  • Dates are on my calendar.
  • Every student will have a speaking part.
  • Every student will crew for another class.
  • Activities
  • Design a costume.
  • Learn stage make-up techniques.
  • Work on a production crew.
  • Student directors are selected based on their
    work, dependability, and desire to hold this
    position.

  • 2013-2014 TEA / UIL Eligibility Calendar
  • This document is intended to bring clarity to the
    eligibility calendar for UIL participants.
  • Specifically be aware of the following issues
  • Grade periods for eligibility are seven (7)
    calendar days after the evaluation, with the
    exception of holidays.
  • Students may only lose eligibility at the six
    weeks grading period.
  • Students can regain eligibility at both the three
    weeks progress report and at the six weeks grade
    report.

Why Should Parents Volunteer?
  • To support your child and the Theatre program
  • To meet other parents
  • Students cannot attend a field trip without
    enough chaperones.
  • Play productions require a production program,
    photographer, people to build and paint sets,
    distribute posters, sell tickets, make costumes,
    sell flowers and concessions, assist with the
    cast/crew meals and rehearsals, count money from
    the fundraiser and sales, assist with t-shirt
    sizing, etc.
  • Donate concessions to sell and organize Theatre
    socials
  • Create lists of participants, etc.
  • These are just some of the areas that need your
    support.
