What we do

• SAAAC was created with the intention of
  facilitating families in our community impacted
  by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with a special
  focus on the challenges that South Asians face in
  the GTA
• Our organization looks to create positive change
  in the lives of our children through
• Cognitive, behavioural and physical development
  of our children
• Creation of a supportive educational
  environment for parents and caregivers
• Raising awareness about ASD in the larger South
  Asian Community

How can you join?

• Contact IMHO
• One-time volunteer orientation session
• (held every 1-2 mos)
• Continuous intake of new volunteers
• Attend/shadow until trained (max 2 weeks)
• Commitment at least 1-2 sessions per week for 3-6
  months or longer if you like it!

What we do

• The Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (CCVT)
  aids survivors in overcoming the lasting effects
  of torture and war
• In partnership with the community, the Centre
  supports survivors in the process of successful
  integration into Canadian society, works for
  their protection and integrity, and raises
  awareness of the continuing effects of torture
  and war on survivors and their families

• A Volunteer is paired with a CCVT Client to
  provide on-going personal, non- professional
  support i.e. basic information, life skills,
  general assistance to help the client adjust to
  the life in a new country.
• Escorts and Interpreters
• Volunteers accompany clients to appointments with
  Physicians, Specialists, lawyers and Social
  Service agencies.  Please mention your second
  language i.e. Farsi, Dari, Somali, Arabic,
• Yoga Instructors
• Availabilities Mondays Wednesdays
