The Facts, Please!

• A Giant human being is one who is very much
  larger than normal. Some giants may be taller
  than nine feet.

• Many people grow extra tall naturally (like a
  seven-foot basketball star, for instance.) A real
  giant has a condition known as gigantism or
  giantism. It begins in childhood and is caused
  when the growth hormones in the pituitary gland
  are overactive. Today there are treatments for
  this condition.

More Facts, Please!

• Giants are mentioned in the Bible in several
  places. There were giants in the land in Noahs
  day. A great many giants lived in a valley in
  Canaan when Abraham live there. The last of
  these valley giants was Og, king of Bashan. He
  had an iron bed that was 13 feet long and 6 feet
  wide.

• Later, when the Israelites came to the border of
  Canaan, they were afraid to go into their land
  because of the giants there. King Davids
  soldiers killed four giants. One of them had six
  fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.

• Giants were not only huge in size, they had great
  strength. Thats why ordinary size men were
  afraid to fight them. Those who did go against
  them-like young David-trusted God to help them.
  They knew God is more powerful than any giant.
