    never pour water into acid. (Remember ADD

    used chemicals in designated container. Never
    throw a chemical down the sink unless given
    permission by Mrs. Hodgson.

    all times.

  • 18. To test the odor of a solution, do not hold
    it directly under nose. Hold it away and wave
    your hand over the solution towards you.

  • 1. Spray fire extinguisher left to right at the
    base of the flame. Where is the fire

    safety shower. If your lab partners clothing
    catches fire use the fire blanket to smother the
    fire. How do you use the safety

  • 3. Corrosive chemicals splashed on skin should
    be flushed off promptly with copious amounts of
    flowing water for at least 15 minutes. If
    splashed on clothing, the clothing must be
    removed while under the safety shower. Stay
    under the shower for at least 15 minutes while
    Mrs. Hodgson calls the nurse or 911.

  • 4. A corrosive chemical in the eye is a very
    serious matter. Get to an eye wash fountain
    immediately (within 15 seconds if possible).
    Wash the eye for at least 15 minutes while
    someone else calls the nurse. Keep the eyelid
    open fully move the eyeballs up, down, left,
    right, criss-cross, round and round. How do you
    use the eye wash fountain?________________

  • (exams weighted X2 and labs X1)

Retest Policy
  • PAP classes 1 retest/nine weeks (cannot retest
    the last exam of the nine weeks or a final exam).
    Retests are before or after school and have to
    be done within 5 days (from time you receive
    initial grade on test).
  • Core classes same policy but can retest more
    often.

  • Come in for tutorials immediately to find out
    what you missed. (Do not wait until the next
    class period to find out what you missed!

  • If you are absent the day BEFORE a test you are
    STILL required to take the test when you return
    to class. Plenty of advance notice is given when
    a test is scheduled!

  • After school most days. I pick up my kids on

  • In order to exempt a class
  • 90 or above with 3 absences
  • 85 or above with 2 absences
  • 80 or above with 1 absence
  • You CANNOT exempt any class if you
  • are truant (skip any class)
  • go to ISS, GAP, or if you are suspended
  • have late fees (textbooks/library/counselors)

    periods and at lunch.

  • If you are tardy you will be sent to the office
    (on that campus) to receive a tardy slip.
  • After 3rd tardy you will receive detention.
  • 4th tardy on becomes more serious consequences.
