Smithsonian Student Travel is different because
of the relationships that they form with their
group leaders and the flexibility that they have.
When you are working with these people, theyre
not just business-oriented it is almost as if
they become personally vested in each and every
tour. They want to make sure that it is perfect
not just for the group leader but for everybody
involved they want to make it easier on group
leaders, on parents, on students.  -Marc
Salazar, Group Leader, Teacher, California

Scrip cards
  • Scrip cards are gift cards from stores that are
purchased through the program for a reduced
    amount (usually 2-5).
  • The person buying the card gets a card for full
value. The difference goes to the fundraiser
    student.
  • Many stores gift cards are available.
  • The program will run throughout the year. Think
of using it for everyday purchases, gifts, etc.
  • For example
  • Sell a 100 gift card for Walmart to a family
    member.
  • The family member pays 100 for the gift card-
    full value
  • The actual cost for the gift card through the
scrip program is 97.50. The 2.50 difference
goes toward the students trip cost.
