2The Force Projection / Strategic Maneuver
Management Challenge
- Effectively manage complex task of Force
Projection / Strategic Maneuver which ranges
across many domains (concepts, doctrine, force
structure, requirements determination, materiel,
ST, processes, etc.). - Accomplish programmatic unity of effort among
numerous diverse and multi-level agencies
throughout the Service and Joint Force Projection
communities. - Establish viable priorities, focus limited
resources, and share information on programs
and initiatives. - Bottom line Must identify, prioritize, and
gain resourcing for those high payoff programs
and initiatives that directly improve Force
Projection in support of the Army Transformation
Campaign Plan.

3Background
Force Projection Information Center (FPIC)
- Evolved from the Force Projection Center of
Excellence (FPCOE) initiative. - Interest in FPIC website and repository expressed
by DALO-FPM, P2COC, CSS Battle Lab, and MWO
webmaster. - Provides the Force Projection community an
enabling tool to manage and share information in
an interactive environment.

- Draft FPIC charter completed.
- Preparing for membership data call and
identifying key initiatives to host. - Initial FPIC website framework demo completed
functionality refinement and technical
requirements in progress. - Launch FPIC website in Apr 02.
- Brief Power Projection CoC in Jan 02.
- FPBL(SE) represents TRADOC in Force Projection
arena with PM Force Projection leading combined
effort. - Consortium of warfighters, Service and Joint HQ
staff elements, Battlefield Laboratories,
combat/materiel developers, RD agencies. - Supports the warfighter by improving deployment
and strategic responsiveness via use of an
interactive, web-based information repository and
knowledge database of Force Projection related
programs, initiatives, studies, analyses, and
publications.

6Website Purpose
- Support the warfighter by creation of a dynamic,
comprehensive information tool (repository and
knowledge database) tailored to Force Projection
requirements and content. - Support Army Transformation deployability goals
by providing unclassified information via
web-based access to Joint and Army publications
policies, major studies, experimentation,
scheduled conferences and other forums. - Assist the Force Projection community in
documenting and tracking Science and Technology
(ST) efforts by assembling/archiving past and
present studies, reports of major findings and
POC lists.
7Major Tasks
- Provide management and technical team, hardware
and software required - to establish repository and develop website.
- Obtain appropriate approval(s) and required
domain registration. - Host, operate and maintain the website IAW
existing DOD standards and local policies. - Participate in meetings, develop liaison(s),
solicit, gather and consolidate information
pertaining to high payoff Force Projection
enablers. - Receive, review, document and post Force
Projection-related content. - Respond to comments/action items and reconcile
content as required. - Provide physical security of website equipment
and active software - protection of source files. Backup website
content and restore if needed.

Content Submission Form
All content submitted for posting on the FPIC
website will be outlined on standard form and
emailed to the web manager or webmaster. This
form will be available on the website. All
Summary Sheets will be main-tained as an
electronic record.

The website team will maintain a log of all
content received to document the source, date
received and disposition.
