• Current trends are for
• smaller homes,
• more compact (urban) development,
• less emphasis on ownership shorter tenure
  rentals
• But were still building a lot of sprawling
  residential development that sells

• Mix of uses, mix of housing tenure and cost

• Denser development patterns from a time when
  people walked more

• Protection of natural and cultural resources
