• A residential plumbing system is made up of THREE
  major subsystems.
• Supply Carries water from underground water
  mains, storage tank, or well into the building
  for distribution to various fixtures.

• Vent Removes sewer gases that are present in
  the system and maintains atmospheric pressure
  within the drain / waste system.

• Supply ComponentsFresh water is piped into the
  house by means of a ¾ - 1 copper pipe at about
  75 PSI. The pressure is reduced to about 43 PSI
  by a device inserted into the line called a
  Pressure Reducing Valve.

• Anti-Siphon Valve Special valve attached to the
  top of the hot water tank that prevents the tank
  from being drained in the event of a pressure
  drop.
