Title: Pisces Full Moon

1
Pisces Full Moon
2
Why are we here?
The time of the full moon is a time of
celebration.
We celebrate the energy of the SUN.
The reason is that when the Moon is full it is
the furthest from the Sun, thus the Suns energy
is the strongest.
Thus we celebrate the energy of the Sun through
meditation and reflection.
3
All is Energy!
For those of you who are not familiar with
esoteric philosophy or do not know it well I
will remind you that all is energy. Thus you
should simply relax and try to feel the energy
rather then concern yourself with understanding
everything.
During the lecture you can ask questions or make
comments. After the meditation you may also ask
questions.

You may have another planet - or the Moon in
Pisces.
Even if you do not the Pisces energy will still
affect you - and, perhaps, as importantly those
around you.
If you are a Pisces you may not display all of
the characteristics of Pisces as you have other
planets and energies which also affect you.

14
What about Water people?
Beliefs are based on feelings rather than on
reason, passion, or practicality.
Sensitive
Perceive life through their emotions
Water rises into the air and falls as rain,
nurturing the land.
Need close emotional relationships, and rarely
have superficial affairs.
15
So what happens when we put the mode of mutable
together with the element of water?
16
We get Pisces!
  • Pisces is the 12th sign of the zodiac.
  • Being the 12th sign it represents the final stage
in the evolution of man and his place in the
    universe.
  • In this sign is the desire to use all that has
been learned and assimilated in order to gain
perfection, of man as an individual and humanity
    as a whole.

17
Pisceans readily adapt to change!
18
Pisces Astrological Symbol
  • Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming in
opposite directions. Pisceans often feel like
they are being pulled in different directions,
making it difficult to make concrete decisions.
The symbol of the fish has been associated with
    followers of Jesus Christ.

19

21
Pisces Astrological Glyph
?
  • The glyph for Pisces can be seen as depicting two
fish swimming in opposite directions. As well, it
shows two crescents of receptivity pointing
outwards, held together by the line of matter.
The sign of Pisces is considered a receptive
signone that is impressionable, spiritual, and
    open-minded.

22
The Pisces Myth
Typhon, Aphrodite, Eros
The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid
26
What is the Little Mermaid story?
In many fairy tales there is a peculiar and
enchanting figure, sometimes called an ondine or
melusine, sometimes called a mermaid
falls in love with a mortal man
Legend of the Swan Prince
  • the union of a mortal with something from
    another level of reality
  • the meeting is fraught with difficulties
  • there are always conditions attached
  • it usually ends in disaster or difficulty
  • because of the ineptitude of the mortal

27
How does this relate to Pisces?
  • Pisces is the last sign, the completion of the
    cycle.
  • Every sign leaves its trace in Pisces there is
not so much a particular Piscean dilemma as that
    Pisces embodies the human dilemma.
  • In this last of the zodiacal signs is represented
all of mans helplessness, his longings, his
dreams, his needs, his powerlessness in the face
of the universe, his delusions of grandeur, his
longing for love, his sense of a mystery or a
divine source which he strives for, yet cannot
    wholly reach without great sacrifice.

28
  • You might say that in every Pisces, symbolized by
the two fishes trying to swim in opposite
directions yet bound together by a golden cord,
there is this dilemma of the meeting of two
    dimensions.
  • There is the ordinary mortal side, which is used
to facts and realities of a tangible kind.
  • And there is also that which inhabits the dark
depths, and which occasionally flashes its tail
above the water, catching the sunlight,
entrancing the mortal on the shore.
  • How this meeting is dealt with is the story of
    each Piscean life.

29
  • Some Pisceans simply follow the mermaid down,
forgetting that human lungs cannot survive
underwater. Here we have the derelicts of
humanity, the lines of the junkies and the
chronic alcoholics and the hopeless, the waster,
    the despairing, the abject.
  • Or the escapism of Aphrodite and Eros.
  • For other Pisceans, the fairy tale has a
different ending.  It is here that we can see the
genius of men such as Einsteinwhere the glimpse
of other realms and of a universe barely
comprehensible to the ordinary mind in its
majesty and infinityis translated through the
human brain, offering to the world a charting of
    the unknown waters.

30
  • Obviously, not every Piscean is an Einstein or a
    drunkard.
  • But perhaps the task of every Piscean is to come
to terms in some way with the transpersonal
realm, and to have the courage to be its
    mouthpiece.
  • Here we find the poets and musicians, the great
actors and playwrights, the visionaries and
mystics who attempt to bring to ordinary life a
glimpse of something else. (Which you will note
in our list of those born in Pisces.)
  • This can be through a work of art, or it can
exist in the humblest expressions of human love.

31

Pisces and Christianity
39
  • Associations of the Christ story with
astronomical factors abound. As the Bull and Ram
had been worshipped during the preceding Ages of
Taurus and Aries, the Fishes became the great
mystical symbol. Christ was said to be a fisher
    of men
  • Another Christian symbol, the sacrificed lamb,
likely refers to the end of the prior age, Aries,
just as the slaying of the Bull is believed to
represent the end of the Age of Taurus.
  • On the way to his Crucifixion, Christ made twelve
stops, known as the Stations of the Cross,
another allusion to the twelve Zodiacal signs.

40
  • Similarly the death of Christ, the Crucifixion,
could contains a symbolic reference to the end of
the Age of Pisces when the Age of Aquarius
begins. Christs body was fixed to the Cross
(Cruci-fixion) but astrologers know of something
called the Fixed Cross. This is the group of
four so-called fixed Zodiacal signs forming a
cross within the circle of the Zodiac Taurus,
Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. When the Vernal Point
precesses into Aquarius, the four seasonal
points, the two Equinoxes and two Solstices,
themselves always forming a cross, will have
moved into the fixed signs or Fixed Cross of the
Zodiac from the mutable signs where they are now.

41
  • The Fish are one of its great symbols. Why?
  • Firstly, there is the aspiration.
  • Second to the aspiration is the urge towards
    self-sacrifice.
  • Compassion and love of an impersonal, unbiased
kind are also Piscean virtues extolled in this
last era.  Love thy neighbour as thyself, turn
the other cheek - these are Piscean aspirations.
Of course you have to remember that there's
another fish to the pair, too.  But much of the
history of religion in the last two thousand
years has forgotten about that second fish.  It's
locked down in the basement, and popularly
    referred to as the Devil.

42
The Labours of Hercules
43
The Labour in Pisces
  • There are several variations of the myth
concerning the labor of Hercules in the sign
Pisces. We are told that there was an island
where lived a human monster with a body of three
men united. He had a herd of red cattle, guarded
by a shepherd and a two-headed dog. Hercules
received orders (Pisces is the sign of obedience)
to bring these cattle from the island, across
land and water to the sacred city.

44
Hercules completes his task
  • Hercules sailed to the island in a golden cup and
when he arrived there he climbed to the top of a
mountain and spent the night in prayer.

45
Hercules completes his task
  • Then he killed the two-headed dog but he did not
    kill the shepherd.

46
Hercules completes his task
  • He also killed the owner of the red cattle.

47
Hercules completes his task
  • Here is the beautiful part of the story Hercules
placed all of the cattle in the golden cup, in
which he had sailed over to the island, took them
to the Sacred City, and offered them in sacrifice
    to Athena, Goddess of Wisdom.

48
What is the three-bodied man?
Hercules has had a vision of something he has to
do. He sees humanity owned by a monster, a
three-bodied man, the symbol of a human being
with mental, emotional and physical bodies
united. Now humanity, the human monster, is ready
for salvation and the real work of The World
Savior can begin as a whole with the group
concept underlying the work rather than
individual soul saving.
49
What are the red cattle, shepherd two-headed
dog?
The two-headed dog representing the matter aspect
and the psychic nature. You see why Hercules
spared the shepherd. The mind can still be the
shepherd of the cattle but the two-headed dog,
the psychic-emotional nature and the matter
aspect, Hercules killed, which means that they
were deprived of any power.
The symbolism of the red cattle is plainly that
of the lower desires, desire being ever an
outstanding characteristic of humanity.
. They are guarded by a shepherd, which is the
mind.
50
Transmitter of Light
If Jesus or Hercules, or you as a human being,
en rapport with his your soul, becomes a
transmitter of light to the sons of men, so we
can extend the concept and think of humanity as a
whole with all minds held steady in the light,
transmitting to lower kingdoms in nature that
spiritual energy which will raise them up into
heaven. That is the work of humanity. We are so
occupied with our own problems that we forget the
larger picture. It is to be noted again that the
keeper of the cattle, the form aspect, was also
killed but the shepherd and the cattle were
raised up in the golden cup.

We can view this as the energy of water
feelings (Pisces) on the level of the
personality and earth organized and predictable
(Virgo) on the level of the emotions looking at
the elements. Both are mutable signs which are
associated with changing things into something
else. Thus this produces a personality blending
emotional sensitivity and intuitive understanding
with the Virgo traits of discrimination,
intellectuality and practicabilitygood mental
analysis, constructive criticism and common sense
decisions. There is a working together of the
intuitive and practical. One can make ones
intuition, feelings and impressions about things
useful in practical affairs.

These individuals have generous natures, with
enormous capacity for enjoying life and wanting
the very best of everything. Whether or not they
pursue a formal education, their intellectual
curiosity compels them to want to know everything
and gives them a healthy respect for knowledge.
Negative associations of this conjunction lead in
opposite directions ruined health and finances
caused by constant overestimation and
overindulgence, or, miserable miserliness
inspired by exaggerated self- denial. On the
positive side these individuals are true
spiritual leaders, gifted actors, mimics,
inspired teachers, writers, and artists.
Moon opposite Jupiter indicates that though the
material abundance promised by the Moons
association with Jupiter may never appear or may
be wasted, these individuals probably have not
been deprived of the jolly sense of humor and
great intelligence which are also implied. To be
successful they are certain to have to overcome
some type of emotional exaggeration, either gross
overindulgence or its opposite extreme,
asceticism.

Mercury conjunct Neptune indicates those who may
often fail to see the reality of situations even
to the point of completely exhausting others who
must deal with them on this basis. However, they
also may have remarkable farsightedness and
instinctual understanding of things that less
sensitive intellects cannot grasp. They are
likely to have great fondness for art, design,
music, and nature.

Mars sextile Saturn indicates those with a good
sense of timing. They often know exactly when to
act, or in some cases, when not to act. They are
apt to receive opportunities to get ahead in
business, construction, real estate, management,
banking, or property management and development.
They are good at aggressively planning and
promoting their own interests as well as others.
Those with organizational skills are excellent
administrators, instructors and trainers.

Why are we here tonight?
The time of the full moon there is a direct
alignment between the energy of the sign the sun
is in and the affairs of the sign the moon is in.
Sun Pisces total renunciation
Moon Virgo fulfills service intent
In our meditation this evening, let us visualize
a common goal for humanity. Groups of men and
women of goodwill bonding together to support
right-human values. Let us use our magical powers
of manifestation, and see this happen. Leaders
and ordinary people alike, afire with goodwill
and humanitarian vision, acting in concert for
the good of mankind as a whole.
