  revolved around the Earth, but that the other
  planets revolved around the sun.

• Denmark, 1609 Brahes assistant who discovered
  that the planets had elliptical orbits.

• Italy, 1609 - First to use a telescope and
  identify the planets as objects like Earth. Also
  saw craters and mountains on the moon.
