• They are gram-positive

  chain)
• Habitat blood

Impact

• Streptococcus Pyogenes causes Scarlet fever. This
  illness mostly effects children. Symptoms include
  fever and a bright red rash. It can be treated
  with antibiotics.

• More than 10 million infections are caused by
  group A Streptococcus each year.
• Before the development of antibiotics, Scarlet
  Fever was the leading cause of death in children.
• Scarlet Fever occur mostly in children 4-8 years
  old.
