God gave him to show his servants what must soon

Why Study Prophecy?
  • Understanding prophecy arms the believer against
    false prophets and false doctrine.
  • 2 Pet 33 First of all, you must understand
that in the last days scoffers will come,
scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4
They will say, "Where is this coming he
promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything
goes on as it has since the beginning of
    creation."

8
Why Study Prophecy?
  • I only want to learn things that are practical
    to my life.
  • 2 Tim 316 All Scripture is God-breathed and is
useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and
training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of
God may be thoroughly equipped for every good
    work.

9
Why Study Prophecy?
  • It validates the scriptures
  • 2 Peter 119 And we have the word of the
prophets made more certain, and you will do well
to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in
a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning
    star rises in your hearts.

10
Why Study Prophecy?
  • Yeshua IS prophecy!
  • Rev 1910 At this I fell at his feet to worship
him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a
fellow-servant with you and with your brothers
who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!
For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of
    prophecy."

11
Why Study Prophecy?
  • Studying prophecy tends to purify the believer
    and brings out holy living.
  • It is easier to resist temptation when you know
    what your actions will bring.

  • Virtually every historical event, story, parable
and focus of every book is about the restoration
of the Kingdom and how to prepare for it.

13
Why Study Prophecy?
  • Isnt our entire lives as believers built on
the idea that we are to prepare to meet Him?
  • How can we prepare if we dont know how, when,
where or why He is coming back and the things we
    should be looking for?

14
Why Study Prophecy?
  • Is 4610 I make known the end from the
beginning, from ancient times, what is still to
come. I say My purpose will stand, and I will do
    all that I please.

15
Why Study Prophecy?
  • 63 times in the Bible, the Lord is quoted using
the phrase, it shall come to pass.
  • 116 times in the Bible, the Lord is quoted using
    the phrase, in that day.
  • 2304 times in the Bible, the Lord begins an
action phrase with the words, I will

16
Why Study Prophecy?
  • The Bible says over and over again that we
should not be ignorant of these things.-Romans
    1125 I Thessalonians 413 II Peter 35,8 II
