2Why Uniform Curriculum?
- For paramedical programmes, activities like
measurement of blood pressure, temperature, etc.,
performing pathological tests, facilitating
services in an Operation Theatre, making
arrangements for diagnosis of a patient through
different Imaging Techniques do not have any
variation across the country
3Minimum Qualification for the Teachers/Trainers
- MD/MBBS are capable of teaching any programme.
- All practical activities should be conducted
under the supervision of a duly qualified doctor. -
4Minimum Qualification for the Teachers/Trainers
- For Certificate Programmes, the faculty should be
either a Graduate with three years of relevant
experience or may be an Undergraduate (where
Graduation is not available) with at least five
years of experience in relevant field. - For Diploma Programmes, the faculty concerned
should be either a Post Graduate or where Post
Graduation is not available he should be a
Graduate with three years of relevant experience
or Diploma with five years of relevant
experience.

13Minimum Equipment Requirements
- The Academic Committees concerned should duly
verify the availability of proper equipments and
every Community College should have tie-ups with
hospitals (at least 50-bed) for conducting the
practicals
14Maximum Number of Students in a
Programme/Community College
- Academic Committees concerned will decide about
the enrolment in a particular programme on the
basis of infrastructure faculty availability
and tie-up with hospitals. - Optimum number of students in a Programme/College
- - 20 Students
- Maximum number of students in a Programme/College
- - 30 Students (in exceptional cases)
15Restrictions for number of Community Colleges in
the same town/city/block/taluka, etc
- In the same town/city/block/taluka, etc. the
programmes offered through Community Colleges
should be complementary to each other. - The programmes already on offer would continue.
16Syllabus for Basic Foundation Course (8 Credits)
- The syllabus for Basic Foundation Course for 8
Credits has been prepared following required
contents from the Class XI and Class XII Syllabus
for Physics, Biology, Chemistry, etc. as per the
NCERT Textbooks.
17Next Admission Cycle
- We are not going to take any admission for
Jan 2012 Cycle for
Paramedical Programmes.
18Next Examination Cycle
- No examination will be held in December 2011.
- For the July 2011 registrations, first
examination will be conducted in June 2012.
19- The institutions willing to offer paramedical
programmes under IGNOU Community College Scheme
must have at least 3 years of experience of
offering Paramedical Programmes to the community.
20- Academic Committee must verify the documents of
the hospitals with which tie-ups are going to
happen in respect of, how large is the hospital,
Teachers and Student Ratio, relevant equipment as
per programmes offered by Community College,
Patient turnout in hospital, updated equipments,
workload of hospitals, number of beds at the
hospitals, etc.
