Pack 272
38The Organization of Pack 272
- The Pack is everyone
- Pack meets once a month for a Pack Meeting or
special event. - Pack also has various trips, community service
projects, and fund raisers throughout the year. - Dens comprise the Pack
- A Den is a group of 5-8 boys of the same age,
plus an adult Den Leader and Assistant Den
Leader. - Dens meet weekly (except the week of the Pack
Meeting) for a Den Meeting or an outing. In Den
Meetings, boys work on crafts, projects, and
badges.
39The Organization of Pack 272
- Families comprise the Dens
- Boys work on age-appropriate badges and awards
with their parents or guardians at home, using
their scout book. - Parents and guardians are needed to serve as Pack
leaders, Committee members, and Den leaders, and
as helpers at Pack and Den meetings, activities,
trips, fund raisers, etc. - The Pack can accommodate new boys only to the
extent we can absorb them into existing Dens, and
formulate new Denswith new Den Leaders.
40The Finances of Pack 272
- Last year we spent about 125 per boy!
- Annual Pack Dues and Registration fees are 50
per year. - Somehow, some way, the Pack needs to raise 75
per boy to remain solvent. - Your participation in our fund raisers is
critical. Please do your best to help!
41What Happens Next?
- There will be an Organizational Den Meeting on
Wednesday, Oct. 10th, 7pm, here at the VFW for
all new boys and their parents or guardians. - We will use this meeting to show you what a Den
Meeting is, and to organize all new boys into
Dens, and identify candidate parents or guardians
to server as Den Leaders. - Completed applications, medical forms,
parent/guardian questionnaires, and a check for
50 are due at this meeting.
