1- SPORTING
  • Developed to assist the hunter in the pursuit
    of game.
  • There are 24 breeds in this group.
  • Examples are Pointers, Retrievers, Setters

2- HOUNDS
  • This group has 2 basic types that were both
    developed to aid the hunter
  • 1- hunts by scent
  • 2- hunts by sight (greyhound)
  • Examples hounds, beagles, daschunds

3-WORKING HERDING DOGS
  • Developed for specific purposed herding
    animals, guard, guide, or police duty

  • Use chapter 7 on dogs to answer the questions
    asked about the breeds. Match which breed each
    statement refers to.
